An invitation from District Governor Bette Douglas To all D7820 Rotarians to attend the
2008 District Convention
My theme for the year is “Keep Rotary Fun!” and in that vein we are planning a District 7820 Convention in Amherst, May 29-June 1 2008 that we believe will have people talking for years to come. We intend to fire up the Rotary spirit that lurks within you and provide you with the inspiration to go back to your Clubs and do even more great work….and have fun while doing it.Taking a cue from many of the Clubs in our District who successfully blend fellowship with community service, we are planning the District’s single biggest one day project ever involving every person attending the Convention .
Imagine…..as many as 300 Rotarians and partners all working together….all at the same time. What amazing sight that will be! We’re also planning an evening gala performance that will have you splitting your sides and calling for encores. You’ll see a side of some of your Rotarian colleagues you never imagined…..and if you sing, dance, play an instrument, act or just like goofing around…We have a part for you. Just contact me and I’ll welcome you into the cast (but you’ll have to keep what we’re doing a secret!)
The District Convention is a special time…..a time for making new Rotary friendships and renewing existing ones. A time for learning more about this amazing organization we all belong to….and a time for having fun. That’s why I want to see you in Amherst May 29-June 1, 2008 where we will “Keep Rotary Fun!”
